Former Eagles Defender,Okey Isima Dies At 56

Okey Isima Okey Isima was a former Enugu Rangers player, and also a member of the team which won the 1980 Africa Cup of Nations in Lagos. He also played at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow.
Isima died in Abuja on Monday after a brief illness.
A former teammate of the deceased and captain of the 1980 team, ChristianChukwu, told us that he received the news of Isima’s death on Monday morning from some of his friends. Chukwu said:
“It was shocking. I never knew he was ill. The last time we spoke, he sounded healthy and there was no reason to suspect he was sick. This is a great loss to Nigerian football”
Isima played in the United States in the twilight of his career before returning to football management in Nigeria few years ago.
