30-year-old man arrested in Ogun for raping two underage girls

A 30-year-old commercial motorcyclist, Ahmed Jimoh, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command on Friday for allegedly raping two underage sisters in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The suspect, who is now in the custody of the anti-human traffickingdepartment of the police, was at the Eleweran Police Headquarters with the victims and their parents.

It was gathered that the suspect resides in the same building as the victims’ parents at Ladeo Estate, along Ayetoro Road, Abeokuta North Local Government.

The father of the victim told PREMIUM TIMES each time his children, aged 11 and seven, returned home from school, the suspect sexually assaulted them. The crime was discovered recently when the parents noticed the younger of the two girls expressing some discomfort.

“The suspect lives at the upper floor of the building,” the children’s father said. “Each time the kids are sent home from their mother’s shop (not far from the house), he would lure them into his room to have sex.”

When contacted, the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident. He said investigation was ongoing and the suspect would be arraigned in court.
