Benefits mum-of-11 Heather Frost ‘hired fairground carousel for daughter’

A mother-of-11 who lives on benefits and is having a £400,000 home built for her by the council hired a private fairground ride for one of her children, it emerged today.

Heather Frost, who has never worked, bought the treat in the summer of 2011. Miss Frost, who was treated for cervical cancer two years ago, lives with nine children in two adjacent properties.

Along with getting the six-bedroom ‘eco house’ near Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, Ms Frost, 37, has also treated her current partner to flying lessons, owns a horse and an £1,000 parrot called Jake.

The man who supplied the ride for hundreds of pounds, William Danter, told MailOnline how he asked to be paid in cash for the visit after seeing the ‘scruffy house’.

Mr Danter, a father-of-two whose wife suffers from multiple sclerosis and has run Billy Danter’s Fun Fair for a number of years, said: ‘The (benefits) system is broken. It should be there as a safety net and to support people who need help, not for people to live on. You should have to work for your money, not work the system like this.

‘You should only have the amount of kids that you are able to support – if I had more children I wouldn’t be able to work as much.’

Miss Frost’s father has already called her ‘lazy’.

The red-haired mum told the Daily Mirror: ‘I’ve been on benefits for six or seven years but I’m not a scrounger. Being a mum is a full-time job.

‘It’s hard and it’s hectic but you learn to cope. I plod along but now my life is being trashed – and it’s gone too far.

‘A mass murderer wouldn’t get as much attention as I’m getting.’

She told the Mirror that she is in remission but still has to go to hospital every three months.

‘It will be five years before I get the all-clear,’ she added.

‘I’d love to come off benefits and pay my own way but it’s not that easy. I’m not well enough to work at the moment.’
